Solutions for Existing Homes.
Energy Solutions is proud to be the oldest and most knowledgeable source of information in the Triad for existing home energy assessments.
Our Comprehensive Home Assessments provide a variety of solutions for problems in existing homes such as: high utility bills, excessive dust, respiratory issues excaberated by poor indoor air quality, and hot, cold or uncomfortable rooms or areas.
What sets Energy Solutions apart is our commitment to expertise.
We proudly don't sell or endorse any products because we don't believe that there is a "silver bullet" to solve your home's energy or comfort problems.
Using a "systems approach," your home is assessed from foundation to attic with regards to energy, health, environmental impact, and cost to operate.
We understand that altering one system in a home can dramatically change the home's environment and comfort. Therefore we recommend a whole-house approach to improvements and upgrades. We know that our recommendations will achieve results. We've had over 30 years of experience to know what will and what will not work in your home or for you situation.
When it comes to your home and health, trust only the best and most experienced home assessments.
Level One Comprehensive Home Assessment
This assessment is a basic "walk-through" examination of your home and it's systems. Included in this assessment is an examination of the attic, crawl space or basement, and living area. We begin with an exhaustive utility history and interview with you related to the problems and issues you might be having with your home.
After learning what your concerns are, we will address solutions to the problems by inspecting the house as a system.
Included in this assessment are a blower door test, duct blaster test, ventilation fan test, HVAC equipment inspection, appliance inspection, lighting inspection, health and safety inspection related to combustion safety and a basic report.
The cost of the Level One Comprehensive Home Assessment is $250 and is limited to homes under 2500 square feet of conditioned area.
Level Two Comprehensive Home Assessment
Providing the same basic assessment as the Level One Comprehensive Home Assessment, the Level Two Assessment is designed for larger and or more complex homes.
If your home is over 2500 square feet and you are still looking for the basic walk-through examination of your home and systems, this is the level assessment best suited for your needs. This assessment is also designed for homes that might have had an add-on addition, multiple foundation types or more complex issues such as homeowner respiratory or health-related problems.
Included in this assessment are: a blower door test, duct blaster test of each HVAC system (up to two included), ventilation fan test, HVAC equipment inspection, appliance inspection, lighting inspection, health and safety inspection, and a basic report.
The cost of a Level Two Comprehensive Home Assessment is $500 for a home up to 4000 square feet of conditioned area and limited to 2 HVAC systems.
Level Three Comprehensive Home Assessment
Designed for the homeowner who has a serious upgrade or energy remodel in mind, the Level Three Comprehensive Home Assessment provides the most in-depth information related to your home's energy consumption, health, safety, comfort, and durability.
This assessment includes a walk-through examination of each home's systems, including a thermal scan of the exterior of the house to locate possible hidden defects in insulation and air barriers and possible major areas of energy consumption.
Each system is tested including the house leakage, duct systems, HVAC systems, and ventilation systems.
All equipment including water heaters, HVAC units, ventilation fans, and appliances are catalogued and checked for energy efficiency.
We spend approximately half a day or more in your home on this assessment and we recommend that you arrange your schedule to include at least 5-6 hours with us while we test and review your home.
At the end of the Level Three Comprehensive Home Assessment, you will receive an approximately 20-25 page report documenting all the findings and results of our tests and inspections and including a comprehensive list of recommendations for improvements to your home.
