Danny Gough, Senior Enginner

 

Danny Gough is a mechanical engineer specializing in investigating and diagnosing building failures. With nearly 40 years experience, he's learned hundreds of ways to build houses wrong. His passion is in helping homeowners and builders avoid those mistakes. 

 

Danny is an instructor for the National Association of Home Builders’ University of Housing and the Air Conditioning Contractors of America. He also taught courses for the NC Governors School, Forsyth Technical Community College and Wake Forest University.

 

He serves on the executive committee of the Triad Green Building Council and provides training assistance to builders and trade partners.

 

Danny's work has been the focus of numerous articles in the NC Professional Engineering Magazine, Winston Salem Journal and Triad Business Journal. He's also appeared on WXII News Channel 12, FOX 8 WGHP and a guest on WSJS Radio. 

 

 

 
Dana Gough Myers, President
 

Dana Myers has spent her early years as a Building Science "Trainee,” following the footsteps of her Dad (Danny), helping investigate building failures and learning building science physics.  By the time she completed her National Home Energy Rater certification at Southface Energy Institute in 2006, Dana was already a 10 year veteran of the industry. 

 

Dana assists with diagnostic testing and provides oversight for the Energy Star for New Homes and the System Vision program administered by Advanced Energy for non profit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity. 

 

In addition to being a full time mom and home school educator, Dana

holds the Healthy Home Specialist designation from the National Center for Healthy Housing and has been a featured on WXII News 12, WGHP Fox 8  and TWC TV 14 as well as teaching at Forsyth Technical Community College. 

 

 

 

 

 

Matthew Myers, Quality Assurance Technician

 

Matthew Myers has spent the last 12 years trying to impress his in-laws. He's cleaned the office, mowed the yard, carried equipment, and learmed the "nerd speak" of the trade. Then he challenged and passed the National Core test for his Home Energy Rating Certification. 

 

Today Matthew provides the majority of the System Vision oversight through inspections and testing for the Habitat for Humanity. He also provides code compliance testing for the NC Energy Code, serviing both builders and HVAC contractors. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jeff Failing, Quality Assurance Technician

 

Jeff Failing was vice president of a custom home building firm for 26 years. He was responsible for constructing homes from $100,000 to over $1,500.000.

 

After retiring from home building, Jeff obtained his NC Home Inspectors License, challenged and passed the National Core test for his Home Energy Rating Certification. Today he does a number of professional home inspections as well as testing and quality assurance for many of our projects. 

 

Jeff is a past board member of Habitat for Humanity and a former trustee and deacon at Salem Baptist Church. He has worked with young people in various capacities over 40 years. His unique mix of experience with buildings as well as people makes Jeff an extremely valuable asset to our team.
